FTM genealogy of Vaughn and Morton of Donald W. and Wilma K. Vaughn Abner was a saloon keeper at Wisconsin and Second Streets in Racine and keeper of the Seventh Street light house. Some of the information for Abner is from Cheryl Janke 1916 Keith St. Eau Claire, WI 54701-4656. Grandson Edwin C. Rouse of Co. K 8th Wi Vol. d.5 Oct 1863 and is buried near Abner. From the Kewaunee Enterprise Tues. 20 Oct 1874. Died. In Pierce, at the residence of his son O.G. Rouse, on Wed, 14 Oct, Abner Rouse, aged 83 years. Mr. Rowse was born in Berkshire county MA in 1791. He was a soldier in the war of 1812, and was with the land forces at Lake Champlain at the time of McDonovgh's victory. He came to WI in 1838 and settle at Racine, where he has lived ever since, with the exception of of the past three years, which he spent with his son in Pierce. His remains were taken to Racine for internment. Peace to the old veterans ashes. Cheryl sent copies of Abners pension papers, # 21326 War of 1812. In the application he states he was married to Rachel on the 24th of Dec. 1814, at "Buciaus", OH. Probably Bucyrus.
